Econosights was founded by two Columbia University graduates, brother and sister, with the mission of making positive changes in the world through storytelling. The publication publishes stories in English and Japanese to reach a diverse and expansive audience. The outlet has published stories in partnership with major outlets such as the Pulitzer Center and was featured by the University of Chicago for exemplary journalism. Co-founders Miho Ouyou and Minsha Ouyou have delivered lectures and speeches at prestigious universities, including the University of Chicago, with the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Education.
Founders
Miho Ouyou (Pulitzer Center Grantee ’23) is a journalist who has covered a wide range of topics, including education, politics, human rights, and environmental issues. Many of her works have been featured at Columbia University, the Pulitzer Center, Civil Beat, and the University of Chicago. In addition to her journalism work, she also has an extensive background in business, having earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the age of 20 as the youngest graduate of the class. She has worked full-time for one of the largest international consulting firms for several years. She is also a member of the international honor society for economics, Omicron Delta Epsilon, as well as Phi Beta Kappa, alongside notable members including 17 former U.S. presidents and 140 Nobel laureates.
Minsha Ouyou (Pulitzer Center Contributor) earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and linguistics with a focus on natural language processing and AI. Now, he is pursuing his research at Columbia University and earning his master’s degree. He has also won multiple national awards, including the Scholastic Art & Writing Award and Academic Decathlon Speech Award. In addition, through his experience at Goldman Sachs, Minsha has obtained expertise in finance, business, and the corporate industry.
