Japan’s space agency JAXA successfully completed the first flight test of its experimental reusable rocket, RV-X, at the Noshiro Testing Center in Akita Prefecture on July 11. The rocket rose about 11 meters, moved approximately 16 meters horizontally, and landed upright after a flight lasting around 40 seconds. The test marks a step toward developing reusable launch technology that could reduce rocket launch costs and strengthen Japan’s competitiveness in the global space industry. JAXA plans to conduct further tests at higher altitudes as it continues developing the technology.
